Full mouth rehabilitation rebuilds worn, broken or failing teeth as one plan. We plan the bite first and work in phases, with temporary teeth in between.

Full mouth rehabilitation is one treatment plan for the whole mouth, rather than fixing one tooth after another. It is used when many teeth are worn, broken, decayed, or covered with old crowns and bridges that no longer fit well.
At our Malad West clinic, our dentists plan these cases together, from the bite to the final shade. The bite is planned first, because crowns that look right but meet wrongly can fail early.
The mouth is rebuilt in a set order. Infection and gum problems are treated first, then the bite is settled, then the final crowns and bridges are made.
Metal-free throughout, strong, and suited to back teeth and long spans. The edges stay tooth-coloured at the gum. We used this in two full mouth cases, replacing old metal-ceramic work.
A ceramic with a more natural, translucent look than zirconia. We use it on laminates and front crowns where appearance matters most, and sometimes layer it over a zirconia frame.
Where teeth are missing, implants may replace them as part of the rebuild. This adds healing time before the final crowns can be made.
We take X-rays, photographs and impressions or scans, and look at the gums, the bite and the jaw joints. We go through the plan and the order of work with you, and you can ask for it in writing.

Decay, infection and gum problems are treated first. Root canals are done where needed. Teeth are then prepared for crowns, and temporaries are fitted so that you can eat and smile while the lab works.
You wear the temporaries for a time while we check the bite, speech and appearance. Changes are easy to make at this stage. The final design is fixed only when you and the dentist agree on it.
The final ceramic work is fitted and the bite checked again. We review you after a few weeks and see you for regular checks.

Not every worn mouth needs a full rebuild. If only a few teeth are failing, treating those alone is simpler, cheaper and keeps more natural tooth. We say so when it applies.
If your teeth are mostly sound and straight but stained, whitening and a few laminates may be all that is needed. If gum disease or uncontrolled decay is active, we treat that first and decide about a rebuild afterwards. When teeth are missing, a plan with implants, a bridge or dentures may suit better than crowns alone.

Each stage has to finish before the next can start. Infection is treated first, then teeth are prepared, then the lab makes the crowns. We also trial the bite in temporaries before making the final ones.
Treatment is done under local anaesthesia, so you usually feel pressure rather than pain. Teeth can feel sore or sensitive for a few days after each stage.
Yes. Temporary crowns or bridges are fitted when teeth are prepared. They are not as strong as the final ones, so we advise a softer diet.
Yes, some patients do. Akhilesh flew in from Hong Kong to replace his crowns. Ask us before you book travel how many trips your plan is likely to need.
It depends on your bite, your cleaning and whether you grind. Ceramic crowns often last ten years or more, but we cannot give a fixed number.
Old metal-ceramic crowns can show a dark edge at the gum, leak at the margins or crack. Akhilesh's old metal-ceramic crowns showed a dark line along the gums, and we replaced them all with zirconia, which has no metal in it. We only suggest replacement when there is a reason.
